Pray for Revival. Pray for AWAKENING! Complacency & apathy are the enemies of revival. Read below & pray!
Battle Against Complacency (by Bill Fitzhugh)
…Why are we sitting here until we die? 2 Kings 7:3 (NKJV)
Four leprous, dying men were sitting at the gates of a dying city. They couldn’t go into the city and were afraid to go out, because the enemy had surrounded them. If they stayed where they were and did nothing, they would surely die.
One question jolted them out of their complacency:
Why are we sitting here until we die?
The emphasis is upon the word “here.” The question made them realize they had to take action.
I believe there are questions we must ask if we want a better tomorrow and a hope of revival. Maybe a question like,
“Would I be content to die in the place where I am now in my life?”
If your answer to the question is, “I am not ready to die,” then,
“Why do we sit here until we die? “
“Why do we sit in the status quo when things can be different?”
“Why do we sit in depression, loneliness, strife and boredom?”
This is a day to be bold and daring and a little bit crazy in your faith. We all have to risk breaking this stranglehold of status quo. So let the dream of revival be restored in your life and become the devil’s worst nightmare.
Father, I want to combat mediocrity and complacency in my life. I want my life to count in eternity. Lead me to pray and live boldly on this side of heaven.
