40 Days of Prayer for Revival & Spiritual Awakening – Day 15

By friend and brother, Mike Shy, went to be with the Lord soon after he wrote this devotional below. We had many conversations before his motorcycle accident. He was pastor at East Side Baptist in Mountain Home. Read & PRAY, we never know when our next step will be into heaven! Pray for true revival so more will go to heaven and less will go to hell!

Day 15

Get to Know Him (by Mike Shy)

The other day, I was behind a car that had some interesting bumper stickers. One said, “God, save us from your followers.” The other was, “When religion ruled the world, they called it the dark ages.” The man driving the car looked like a poster child for the devil.

They reminded me that there is a serious spiritual battle raging all around us – and we are in it.

Jesus said in John 15:5 (NKJV),

Without Me you can do nothing.

That means any good done through our lives is going to be done by Him – not us. Our job is to stay close to the Lord.

In John 17:3 (NKJV), He says,

This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

That is the key.  We need to be people who are intimately acquainted with God and all His ways. Average prayer and faith won’t win most of our spiritual battles. One of the ways God spells LOVE is T-I-M-E. God blesses and uses those who make time to know Him.

Father, I want to be part of a generation that truly falls in love with You – You more than anyone or anything else in this world.
