Day 19
Spend Time in Silence Before the Lord
(by Eric Roberts)
Noise wears us; silence feeds. – C.H. Spurgeon
Sometimes you are surrounded by too much noise. Noise can separate you from a wellspring of eternal joy, excitement, and purpose.
How can silence feed you? The deep recesses of your soul – the places where one seldom goes – need to be fed with silent inspection. It’s in these places where the Word of God begins to speak to your life.
In silence…
- you are healed through the cross;
- you are transformed through the work of the Holy Spirit;
- your heart comes alive;
- you stand in awe of God; and
- you are moved by the very presence of God to share the glorious cross of Jesus Christ.
If not for the silence, you could not be heard.
Father, I will spend time in silence before You, allowing You to transform me into the image of Your Son. Use our time alone together to change me into a real voice for you – someone who will joyfully offer the wonderful news of forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
