40 Days of Prayer for Revival & Spiritual Awakening – Day 28

Day 28 – Renew Me So I Can Rescue Others

by John Sammons

Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you?
Show us your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. Psalm 85:6-7 NLT

Satan has blinded the minds of the saints and kept them in ignorance of their birthright privileges and of their responsibility to live an overcoming life by the power of the Holy Spirit.  It is he who seeks to hinder revival among the saints of God today. – James A. Stewart

When I was a child in the 1950’s and 1960’s, we had two-week revival meetings in which we sought to win the lost.

But as time went on, we began to redefine the word “revival.”  We knew that revival meant to “reawaken life” – to bring life back to those who were already Christians.

What we failed to realize was that we needed to pray, fast and seek God’s will in our lives before the evangelist arrived. James A. Stewart once said, “Revival is the saints of God agonizing on behalf of lost souls going to hell.

Revival begins when we confess our sins to God and then focus our attention on the lost in our community.

We must pray daily for lost souls, show them we care about them personally and share our testimony with those whose hearts are ready.

Bringing the lost to Christ is the true sign that revival has come to you and your church.

Father, bring the renewal we need in our church – change us on every level – so that our hearts will then beat as one  with Your heart…for souls.
