My Phone Has a Flashlight

What a great refreshing time of Revival we had together last week!! Now, what does God want to do next? We can be very certain of God in our lives, even though we are uncertain of what He will do next. Let’s live today with a

“life full of spontaneous, joyful uncertainty and expectancy!”

(A quote from “My Utmost for His Highest” by Oswald Chambers)

“My phone has a flashlight.” When I’m in a dark corner of the house and need more light, instead of going to track down a flashlight, I pull out my phone and turn on the flashlight app.

“My phone has a flashlight.” Imagine how that would have sounded 20 years ago! A telephone attached to your wall or sitting on your desk having a “flashlight” sounds ridiculous!

We have God living in us by His Holy Spirit. He has downloaded into every Christian a spiritual flashlight app.

For God is working in you to give you the desire and power to do what pleases him.

Philippians 2:13 NLT

Our understanding of the significance of that verse today is like our limited understanding of a cell phone 20 years ago. So ask God today to grow your understanding of this application to your life (“App”).

God wills or desires for us to love Him with our whole being and obey what He tells us to do. He has provided the power source to do it! He even gives us the “want-to” or desire to do it!

Most of us would not even think of leaving the house without our cell phone. Are we as dependent and aware of the Holy Spirit in us as we are of having our phone with us at all times?

Our Father, thank-you for your presence, power, and motivation to know you, love you, and do your will.
