See for Yourself

Remember when you were told as a child not to look into the sun? Wise advise since looking into the sun can cause permanent damage to the retina. This rarely happens since it is so painful. You might have experienced that hazy look or feeling of grit in your eyes from a day around sand, snow or water.

Imagine someone asking God, “Please show me your glory.” Let that sink in for just a moment! This is the God who created 50 billion suns!

“Please show me your glory.” God responds, “Okay, I will, but there are limits to keep you from being incinerated.”

God’s glory is reflected in all the goodness He allows into your life. This world is full of just plain evil from the Hitler’s of the world to the monsters who traffic children as sex toys. Yet, God shows us His goodness in His benevolence, graciousness, and generosity.

God’s glory is revealed in his name, the great “I AM.” He has always been and always will be. Time and space do not limit God. He is just as present in the future as He is now.  Just trying to comprehend His Name reflects His glory.

God reflects His glory in His protection. I have driven close to a million miles over the past few decades. I missed many close calls by just a second or two. He hides us in the cleft of the rock and covers us with His hand.

God is unapproachable light and consuming fire! (Heb. 12:29; 1 Tim. 6:16) He loves us so much that he allows us to see reflections of His presence without destroying us.

Bottom line: Reverence, worship, and submit to God for He is holy! Next, get on with the His mission, obey Him with a whole heart. See these truths for yourself in Exodus 33:17-23.

Our Father, we praise You for you indeed are glorious beyond our imagination! Awaken us to the reflections You give us every day.
